Something Money cannot buy – innocence

Purple Heart

Play that song again Sam,

The one that makes my pain rain.

The words slip out on a slivered tongue

Twixt the darkness of love and lust of hate.

A black hole hovers near the Sun in the sky,

Rhythmically pulsing without reason or rhyme.

As in our shoes a walking sleep,

We knowingly lay down like slaughtered sheep.

Steal the warm wind-tired friend,

Times are gone for honest men.

The icy wind howls a rattling breath

We shall never see innocence live again.

The black hole growls and grows in strength

The Sun sucks in light, saving it from death.

And darkness whirls over dry stormy desert,

As the song ricochets thru empty chambers.
